The Vigilantes descended on the town of Branson and started to build our town of Tumbleweed. As we were building our town some new neighbors moved in across the way - the Chuckwagons, Long-horned Steers, Horse-Drawn Carriages and the Mercantile and Artists. We set a new record for the longest time to put up our town ... but I think we were having just too much fun.
By evening we were all in our finest for the Tumbleweed Award Banquet & Show at the Dixie Stampede. Vigilante Jon Locke, Silver Screen Star, sang on the front porch while The Vigilantes greeted folks, as everyone felt like old friends.
G.W. having a polite discussion on "whether Gene Autry or Roy Rogers" is the best all around cowboy?

The lights dimmed and Stan Corliss kicked off the show of two hours of non-stop entertainment. Steve Rhodes warmed the crowd with his positive words and we were blessed with one fabulous entertainer after another, with awards given out in between. The show ended with Roy (Dusty) Rogers Jr. singing with the legendary Sons of the Pioneers.
After the show, people reconnected with their friends from the past two years. It was truly like a great-big family reunion. The Stars took every opportunity to greet and talk to all who wanted to.
With a goal of "Celebrating the Lord through our Western Heritage" how could one not have a great time.
